Scoring a five on the DSTP math

One of my proudest moments was, well actually I have a lot. So I am going to talk about my proudest moment from school. It occurred during my eighth grade year.

I received a five on the DSTP math. This was my first five I have gotten. At least that’s what I know because I have only one of those awards they give you for scoring a five. Although there were a handful of eighth graders who got fives too, I felt good about it. This five really shows how good at math I am and how hard I actually try.

I would have liked to get a five on other subjects, but only math. I scored fours on the other subject(s). This year, I’m confident that I scored a five or four on the math again. The science and social studies part wasn’t all that bad. They were a little easy and a little confusing all at the same time.

The year I took the test that I got the five on was in seventh grade. It was nice to stand in line at the ceremony and feel like a genius. My sister has a lot of those awards. She is the true genius compared to me. I do feel smart, but not even close to how smart she is

My proudest moment was when I scored a five on the DSTP. I still have my award. I will always be proud of my accomplishment. Hopefully I will score more five’s in the future.

Middle School Memories

Middle school has so much fun memories for me. Some memories are things I got in trouble for, but still are things I look back on and laugh about. I just wish I could go back and experience some of the good times one more time.

In sixth grade, I had so many good times and good memories. If I were to tell about them all, I will use up two whole pages to explain. Although I will tell about those that were the best. A good memory would be from Mrs. Pfeiffer’s class. I used to sit in the back of the class and listen to my I pod. That was real fun, and I never got caught!

A good memory from seventh grade would be from Mr. Lucciano’s class. He used to throw candy at us. That was his way of handing it out. Instead of handing it, he threw it. I enjoyed catching it, which was fun also. The candy that he threw most of the time were dumb dumb lolly pops.

A god memory from eighth grade would be from Ms. Delcampo’s class. I have two memories from her class. One would be the candy raffle she does. She would walk around and collect our Mariner money and put them in a bag. Then draw dollars out. Who ever had their dollar drawn won. I won a few times. I also have one more memory from her class. Kody and I used to take pencils and stick them in the ceiling. Well we would actually throw them at the ceiling. Then see how long they would stay up there.

So man good times from Mariner. All which I had fun from and learned a lesson or two from. I wish I could go back and experience them all one more time.

Summary of Theme

My theme is paintball. I love to play it. Although it is not for everybody. PAintball is a sport which can be very competitive or just plain out fun. To me, its fun both ways. The way you play is you have this gun. The gun needs a tank of Co2 to shoot the paintballs. Lastly you need a hopper to hold your paintballs. Thats the basic setup. Although you can customize your gun. For example, my gun is a Spyder Electra. On my gun I have a double trigger, a 36 oz and 20 oz tank, and batery operated hopper(also a regular hopper). My gun has many different shooting modes. I have auto, semi auto, burst 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15. My batery operated hopper circulates the paintballs so they dont jam up and I dont get hit trying to unjam it. The double trigger allows me to shoot much much faster then a gun with a regular trigger. The 36 oz tank holds more Co2 so i will get more shots off then i would with my 20 oz tank.

You can play many different type of games in paintball. YOu can play capture the flag, or just try and eliminate all of the other players. Those are the two most popular games played in paintball. I like to play spped ball also. Speedball is when you see how many shots you can fire in a certain amount of time. Also to see who can shoot the fastest.

The Red House

My book is about a journey to a special house. This house is called The Red House. It is about a kid named Derek Stone. He and his brother are trying to get to the house before all of the translated zombies get there. They are trying to get there and close or put an end to the translated zombies. Even though his brother is translated. Along with them comes a girl to help them. They meet up with Derek’s mother when they are at the house. There she tells Derek that he is the only one who is able to shut the whole which will ultimately end the terror of the translated zombies. These evil translated zombies are being led by Erksine Cane. Erksine is the leader and he is the meanest and toughest of all translated zombies. So he makes everything difficult for Derek and his “helpers.” Derek eventually does shut the hole and puts an end to the terror. All though the story is continued in the next book in the series. So I cant give away any more details.

Limerick

There was a young boy who played the guitar

Every night his dad was at the bar

The boy became mad

He yelled at his dad

His dad took away the guitar

Cape High School

Today I went to the new high school. I had a lot of fun. They have a lot of cool activities that any student can participate in. I got to see most of the school but not all of it.

I got to see the new gym that has not been done for a while. I have never seen a gym so big. It made our gym here at my school look tiny. The bleachers spell out cape. Even when they are open. The new floor is really shiny and had no scuff marks. It was made of wood instead of our gym floor that is a rubber like floor.

I really like the new high school. I cant wait til i get to go there. Itlooks like a college. The school is huge.

We got to see the theater. Which was cool. I enjoyed the reenactment of Edger Allen Poe. The kids who did the show were really into character. I liked how it was a scary like theme and was so realistic. I had a lot of fun watching them put on a show for us.

Touched By an Angel

Maya Angelou

We, unaccustomed to courage
exiles from delight
live coiled in shells of loneliness
until love leaves its high holy temple
and comes into our sight
to liberate us into life.

Love arrives
and in its train come ecstasies
old memories of pleasure
ancient histories of pain.
Yet if we are bold,
love strikes away the chains of fear
from our souls.

We are weaned from our timidity
In the flush of love’s light
we dare be brave
And suddenly we see
that love costs all we are
and will ever be.
Yet it is only love
which sets us free.

Woman Work

Maya Angelou

I’ve got the children to tend
The clothes to mend
The floor to mop
The food to shop
Then the chicken to fry
The baby to dry
I got company to feed
The garden to weed
I’ve got shirts to press
The tots to dress
The can to be cut
I gotta clean up this hut
Then see about the sick
And the cotton to pick.

Shine on me, sunshine
Rain on me, rain
Fall softly, dewdrops
And cool my brow again.

Storm, blow me from here
With your fiercest wind
Let me float across the sky
‘Til I can rest again.

Fall gently, snowflakes
Cover me with white
Cold icy kisses and
Let me rest tonight.

Sun, rain, curving sky
Mountain, oceans, leaf and stone
Star shine, moon glow
You’re all that I can call my own.
